Voices of the Valley Presents 2007 Annual Concert Voices of the Valley will present a choral concert in July 2007. Details are as follows:
In the 2007 Annual Concert, Voices of the Valley will present an attractive program with medleys from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera and Johann Strauss II's Die Fledermaus as anchor pieces. The semi-stage number of Die Fledermaus was presented in December 2006 at the Flint Center and was excellently received by the 2000 in audience – for those who missed it last time, this will be your second chance! Founded in 1998, Voices of the Valley is an exciting choral group consisting of over 30 music lovers from around the Bay Area. Under the baton of music director Stephanie Chan, Voices of the Valley strives to promote music appreciation by bringing our audience a wide range of enchanting classical and modern vocal works. To learn more about Voices of the Valley, visit our web site at www.voicesofthevalley.org About Conductor and Music Director, Stephanie Chan: Stephanie Chan earned her Bachelor of Music Degree summa cum laude from San Francisco State University in 1982. During Stephanie’s tenure as Music Director (1983-1993), the choir of St. Paul's Co-educational College was chosen as the Best School Choir in Hong Kong for ten consecutive years. It also won the Gold Award in the Third International Music Festival held in Australia. Prior to her return to the Bay Area in 1996, Stephanie was a Lecturer in Voice at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Head of Musicianship Department of the Junior School at the Hong Kong Academy for the Performing Arts. As a singer, Stephanie has given solo recitals and has performed in opera productions both in California and in S.E. Asia. She is particularly noted for her interpretation of Mozartian roles and German Lieder. An experienced music teacher in voice and piano, Stephanie now teaches in Milpitas. 
灣區著名的清韻合唱團將於本年度七月二十八日(星期六), 假座聖塔克拉大學音樂正廳Santa Clara University Louis Mayer Theater舉行二零零七年週年演唱會。詳情如下:
是次公演, 清韻合唱團將獻唱韋伯著名音樂劇「歌聲魅影」(Phantom of the Opera)及由圓舞曲大王小約翰˙史特勞斯所作古典歌劇「蝙蝠」選段, 載歌載舞, 保證大家耳目一新! 「歌聲魅影」為近代最赴盛名之百老滙音樂劇之一, 自一九八六年首演至今, 觀眾人數已高達五千二百萬。其中的副曲如「想念您」(Think of You), 「唯求親近您」(All I Ask of You)及同名主題曲, 萬千歌迷皆耳熟能詳。清韻將演出以劇中曲目串連而成的改編合唱作品, 配合舞臺設計, 為此次年度公演的壓軸好戲。 除此以外, 清韻亦將演出改編自歌劇「蝙蝠」之混聲合唱。此曲目清韻曾於二零零六年底於灣區庫伯天奴之Flint Center大劇院演出一場, 深獲近二千觀眾好評, 徇眾要求, 今回再度搬上舞臺。對鍾情流行音樂的聽眾, 更要特別留意是次音樂會其中以「披頭四」五首熱門歌曲改編而成的大合唱。承此主題, 清韻亦揀選了由「披頭四」成員保羅˙麥卡尼所作「利物浦清唱劇」(Liverpool Oratorio) 中「危機」選段, 劇力萬鈞, 不容錯過。 是次公演門卷現正有售, 欲免向隅, 訂購從速! 清韻合唱團成立於一九九八年十二月, 為灣區的非牟利音樂組織, 現有活躍成員近三十多名, 在指揮兼音樂總監陳鳴鶯的領導下, 致力推動灣區合唱音樂文化。陳總監以一級榮譽生畢業於三藩市市立大學音樂系，曾回香港致力發展音樂事業不遺餘力十多年，並成就蜚然。陳總監曾任職香港中文大學聲樂講師及香港演藝學院音樂教授, 亦曾領導香港聖保羅男女中學合唱團, 於國際音樂節中屢獲殊榮。陳總監現居苗必達市從事音樂教育。
