2007 Annual Concert
In the 2007 annual concert, Voices of the Valley will present an attractive program with medleys from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera and Johann Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus as anchor pieces. The semi-stage number of Die Fledermaus was presented in December 2006 at the Flint Center and was excellently received by the 2000 in audience – for those who missed it last time, this will be your second chance!
The concert will also feature a medley of 5 of The Beatles’ most celebrated ballads, Lennon and McCartney… on Love, arranged by Lou Hayward. To top it off, Voices of the Valley will also performed the “Crisis” movement of the Liverpool Oratorio, composed by none other than Paul McCartney of The Beatles. The Liverpool Oratorio speaks of the experience of the fictional character Shanty from childhood to fatherhood, with “Crisis” being the most dramatic pivotal scene, where an accident changed Shanty’s view of love and life.
